King's Graduate Lunchtime Seminar - Florence Hazrat

This Friday we will hear from Florence Hazrat (English) on Shakespeare and cognitive science.

Location: Seminar Room 1 - Note new room!

Presenter: Florence Hazrat (English)

Title:   Shakespeare on the Brain - Cognitive Science meets Literary Criticism

Abstract:

What has the bard to say about the brain? What happens if you consider literature through the microscope? Have Romeo, Juliet, and co. known something about our minds all along that science is only now unravelling? In this lunchtime seminar, we'll let science and literature speak, exploring whether it is indeed a marriage of true minds or rather the stuff that dreams are made of. Metaphors, music, memory, and mirror
neurons will feature - lots of m for this beautiful month of May. Shakespeare would approve.

Bagels and refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there!
